So this creepy bah humbug Santa should definitely find a new day job. We were at a local Christmas carnival one Saturday and Wesley was so excited to see Santa. So we stood in the extremely long line where we were herded like cattle until it was our turn. They told him to go hop up on the couch next to Santa. I don't even think this Santa said one word to him. They snapped the picture and shoved us on our way. It totally felt the the Christmas Story experience. The picture kind of makes me laugh even though I feel so bad for Wes.
The good news is that a few days before Christmas Santa was able to redeem himself in Wesley's eyes. Wes and I were at the local mall and happened to run into the area where Santa was. There was absolutely nobody in line and I asked Wesley if he wanted to see Santa. He was hesitant, but I finally was able to talk him into going. Santa welcomed Wesley onto his lap and I took a seat next to him. We spent the next ten minutes or so just chatting with him. He was extremely kind and Wesley excitedly told him what was on his list. We didn't get a picture that day, but I really wish I would have. He was everything Santa should be and then some. I am so glad that Wesley was able to have such a good experience to overshadow the bad one.
